Manusher Jonno (MJF)

BOMSA received some funding support from MJF for policy advocacy work. A series of advocacy meeting on migrants rights were successfully conducted by BOMSA in different intervention areas and at the ministry level. Mass awareness campaign on safe migration was organized in Narayanganj, Keraniganj and Dhaka districts (Nababganj). Exposure visit of staff members to Indonesia was undertaken with MJF funding support to review the situation of women labour migration management.
MJF is an innovative challenge fund (Funded by DFID) vehicle to make grants available to a range of organizations working on Human Rights and Governance in Bangladesh. Till date MJF has provided funding support to 150 organizations. Committed to address the most marginalized and vulnerable population of Bangladesh, MJF through its partners has brought about positive changes in the lives of 34.73 million people across the country. By extending its support, MJF is contributing towards reducing poverty, preventing human rights violations, improving human security through improved governance.


BOMSA is a partner of DanChurchAid & European Union. The organization received financial support jointly from DCA & European Union to carry out an information campaign for the local Government/Union Parishad on safe migration. A module will be developed to strengthen the capacity of the local government and the GoB officials will be trained based on the manual on migration management. BOMSA conducts pre-departure orientation, bazaar and community meetings on womens safe migration. Media is also strongly addressed through EUs funding. EU supported activities are carried out in Dhaka, Jessore, Narail, kaliya, Sarsha, Narshingdi, Singair at Manikganj. A total of 8 information centers will be established for women migrant workers in those selected districts. Cross learning visit will be organized with media, civil society organization and government officials. Legal support is being provided to deprive migrant women workers through Bangladesh Legal Aids Services Trust (BLAST) and Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA).
DanChurchAid is a faith-based and ecumenical, non-missionary organization working with churches and non-religious civil organizations to assist the poorest of the poor. BOMSA received funding support from DanChurchAid to carry out activities to address the vulnerable women migrant workers.
